7+1 Acts of Survival brings together 7 designers to explore a fundamental question: what allows things to survive through time? The exhibition, curated by Francesco Librizzi and Riccardo Robustini, inaugurates THE LINE, a new platform dedicated to research at the intersection of architecture, art, and design, conceived as a space for long-term cultural inquiry.
Survival is not mere inertia, but the capacity to resist and produce meaning across generations. It manifests as a dual condition, defined by the tension between human intention and the intrinsic resilience of matter. Stone, witness to 2.5 billion years of resistance, serves as the central reference for interpreting every form of persistence: biological, cultural, or technological. Through works by Kengo Kuma, Marcio Kogan/Studio MK27, Bernard Khoury/DW5, Claudio Silvestrin, Ugo Cacciatori, Elias and Yousef Anastas/ AAU Anastas, Francesco Librizzi/Francesco Librizzi Studio and Riccardo Robustini/Breath Design, the exhibition explores the potential of an identical block of African black stone.
